从“美是生活”到“生活美学”:当代中国美学发展的一条主流线索

当代中国美学研究的真正历史起点,并非20世纪50、60年代那场著名的“美学大讨论”,而是车尔尼雪夫斯基的“美是生活”的主流命题。中国美学工作者们对“美是生活”命题进行了大幅度的改造,一方面抛弃了费尔巴哈思想的“自然性”倾向,另一方面显现了其与马克思主义的“社会性”思想的关联,其根本目标是为了建设“中国化”的马克思主义美学体系,从而形成了三种对于“美是生活”的中国化阐释。然而,必须认识到车尔尼雪夫斯基的生活美学具有某种不彻底性,他虽然在本质观上存有回到现实生活的取向,然而在具体问题上却仍未走出传统,这样就既没有也不可能一以贯之地解决美和生活的关系的美学难题,这与21世纪初叶方兴的“生活美学本体论”是迥然不同的。进入21世纪之后,当代中国“美学本体论”的发展正实现着一场创新。当前中国学界的新兴学者们,试图要超出实践美学及其各种后学的思维范式,再次回归现实的“生活世界”来重构美学,并将之视作中国美学未来发展的一条可行之路。

Abstract

The real historical starting point of contemporary Chinese aesthetics is Nikolai Gavrilovich Chernishevsky′s mainstream theory of ″beauty as living″ rather than the famous ″Greater Aesthetic Discussion″ in the 1950s and 1960s. The Chinese aestheticians have greatly reformed the theory of ″beauty as living″. On the one hand, they have abandoned the tendency of ″naturalness″ of Ludwig Andreas Feuerbach′s thought; on the other hand, they have shown their connection with the ″sociality″ of Marxism. Their basic goal is to build a ″Chinese″ system of Marxist aesthetics. Thus, three interpretations of ″beauty as living″ in China have been formed. However, it must be recognized that Chernishevsky′s aesthetics of living is incomplete. Although in essence he has the tendency of returning to the real life, he has not yet gone out of the tradition on specific issues. So, it is impossible to consistently solve the aesthetics problem of the relationship between beauty and living, which is different from ″the ontology of living aesthetics″ in the beginning of 21st century. After entering the 21st century, ″ontology of aesthetics″ in contemporary China is experiencing a new innovation. Nowadays, some new aestheticians in Chinese academia try to reconstruct a new living aesthetics by going beyond aesthetics of practice and its various post-practice paradigms and returning to the ″living world″ of reality again, and regard it as a feasible way for the future of Chinese aesthetics.
